LIBERTON completed their Championship Finals for 2019 last Sunday. It may have been a day late but thank you to Brian Toal and his team for getting the course in an excellent playable condition after the two days of rain mid week.
Also thank you to the competitors for fitting in with the rescheduled timetable. Thanks to all the Referees who
officiated in all the Finals.
Congratulations to all competitors and the eventual winners.
To John Butler on retaining his title as Gents Champion for 2019. The runner up was Clark Munro. It was a well fought final over 36 holes, with John getting the upper hand earlier on but Clark coming back in the afternoon. John finally moved ahead again to win at the 16th 3 and 2.
The Gents B Division Championship was won by Lee Hamilton, and the runner up was Gordon Dickson.
Although Lee had the upper hand for most of the match Gordon put up a good fight in what was an enjoyable
game for both players.
The Ladies Silver Championship was won once again by Jill McLean, and runner up was Stephanie Sutherland. One of the best ladies finals at Liberton, spectators were treated so some excellent golf and a nail biting finish at the 17th.
The Ladies Bronze Championship was also won by a repeat winner, Gillian Fisher, who had the upper hand on the greens over runner up Rosalyn Marshall. Again another good final concluded 4/3 at the 15th hole.
