The Seniors finally got off the mark in this seasons friendly matches with a 16-3 victory over Musselburgh at Liberton on Monday.

This Thursday (13th June) is the date for the latest monthly stableford. Meet in the clubhouse at 9am for a 9.30 start or play at anytime during the day by registering with Iain in the pro shop prior to playing.

George Eddington

It is with great sadness that we report the sudden death of George Eddington. George had been a Member of Liberton for a number of years. He was an active playing member and regularly represented Liberton in the Senior team matches. George was well liked and respected by all who knew him and our thoughts go out to his family.

Funeral arrangements will be posted when they are known.

On Wednesday the Simon Harris trophy was won by Stevie Richardson and the first monthly stableford of the year took place on Thursday following last months cancellation due to adverse weather.

Seniors latest – 4 May 2019

A bit of a nightmare at Musselburgh on Monday where we lost 24 – 0.  Next week is very busy from a seniors point of view,

1. Monday is the away match against Royal Musselburgh (hoping for a better outcome).

2. Tuesday is the Seniors Open Texas Scramble which is fully subscribed from 7am till 5pm but if anyone can’t make it please let Iain know as he has some people on standby,  Thanks to the members that have volunteered to help with starting duties.

3. Wednesday is the Simon Harris Trophy which is a seniors stroke competition played from the medal (white) tees, entry sheet in pro shop and record scores in the computer and put card in Liberton box.

4. Thursday is the monthly stableford, either turn up in the clubhouse at 9am for a 9.30 start or register in the pro shop and play with another Liberton senior at any time during the day.

We can all have a day off on Friday!

Seniors weekly report

Despite a spirited fightback from games 4 and 5 we went down 13 – 8 to Duddingston in the first match of the season so look forward to the return.

The first trophy of the season, Jim Bagan, was decided on Thursday with victory going to David Miller/Charlie Love and Ken Chisholm/Robert Edminston coming a close second.

The team sheet for the Falkirk away fixture on 23rd May is posted on the senior’s  notice board in the gents locker room so please confirm your availability asap.

There has been a poor response to last weeks request for volunteers to assist as starters for the senior’s open texas scramble on May 7th so please either get in touch with Brian Forsyth directly or put your name on the sheet on the senior’s notice board.
