The Senior Ladies enjoyed a wonderful day on Monday in which they played the Foursomes competition followed by a Strawberry Tea in the newly refurbished dining room.
The weather was very kind to us and the result was:
1st place Elvin Bennet and Marjorie Smith
2nd place Margaret Thomson and Pat Grant
Well done ladies …
Please note that for the Ladies Stableford Sweep on Wednesday 28th June, tee times are restricted to before 3:30pm. The reason was the inclement weather which affected a Gents competition at the beginning of June causing it to be rescheduled.
Congratulations to all our Championship winners.
The 2017 Championship finished on a high on Saturday with excellent golf producing some close matches on a course in fantastic condition played in great weather.
Our Club Champion this year is Kieran Cantley who played David Rennie in the 36 hole final. This was Kieran’s first attempt at winning the championship as his tournament schedule normally prevents him from playing and hopefully he will be available next year to defend his title. This was David’s second appearance in a row in the final so “third time lucky“?
The Gents “B” division final was won by John Moore against Kenny Paterson. This was a close match with John on a number of occasions getting ahead but being pegged back by Kenny. John coming through to win a match played in great spirit as you would expect from both players.
The Ladies Silver Champion for this year is Jill McLean. This is Jill’s first Championship win after five final’s so well done winning a very close match against her good friend and playing partner Stephanie Sutherland.
The Ladies Bronze Championship final between Gillian Fraser and Rosalyn Marshall was won by Gillian in a hard fought game. No holes-in-one on this occasion for Gillian but another first time winner, well done.
The Junior Trophies were not presented on Saturday as all of the boys playing in the final were rushing off to their Prom night. They will, along with all the other winners, be presented at our Annual Prize Giving night in November.
The Junior “A” Championship was won by Fraser Martin against David Dunn-Butler with the “B” Championship won by Robbie Urquart against Spencer Roberts. Well Done to all the boys who all played well and at great speed to make sure they were not late for the Prom.
Final Congratulations and thanks must go to Brian Toall and his team for producing and maintaining the course in such great condition. To Iain Seath for all his help and hard work during not only championship week but during all the qualifying rounds.
Congratulations to Gillian Fisher. A hole in one at the 11th in the Championship Bronze semi final. Nice one Gill !
